80-Year-Old Retiree Sets The Internet Abuzz After Building An Adorable Dog Train To Take His Furry Friends On Adventures
Some people build sheds, some people build fences, and then there’s Eugene Bostick, an 80-year-old retiree who built a literal dog train for rescued pups. It’s the kind of wholesome, slightly ridiculous idea that makes you stop scrolling and stare at the screen like, “Wait, you can do that?”
Eugene and his brother live on a dead-end street with a horse barn, which unfortunately means strangers sometimes dump dogs there to fend for themselves. They started by feeding the strays and bringing them to the vet for spay and neuter care, then they turned the whole situation into something more than survival, they created a place where the dogs could actually live.
And once you see Eugene hook up the tractor and watch the dogs go wild, you’ll get why this rescue story hit the internet so hard, it’s pure joy on wheels.
The Ultimate Dog Train

When Eugene and his brother realized the dumped dogs needed more than food and vet visits, that’s when the “rescue” part became a full-on mission.
“We live down on a dead-end street, where my brother and I have a horse barn,” Bostick explained.
“People sometimes come by and dump dogs out here, leaving them to starve. So, we started feeding them, letting them in, and taking them to the vet to get them spayed and neutered. We made a place for them to live.”

Then Eugene spotted a tractor setup with carts for hauling rocks, and the idea clicked, a dog train would be perfect for his farm crew.
This also reminded me of the man who rescued a dog one hour before her scheduled euthanasia.
After he welded and assembled those barrel cars with wheels, the moment he started hooking up the tractor became the dogs’ favorite sound.
After adopting several stray dogs onto his brother's farm, Eugene felt that they needed more than just basic necessities. He recognized that happiness is just as important as survival, so he embarked on an ambitious project to keep his dogs entertained.
“One day, I was out, and I saw this guy with a tractor who attached these carts to pull rocks. I thought, ‘Dang, that would work for a dog train,'” he said. “I’m a pretty good welder, so I took these plastic barrels with holes cut in them, put wheels under them, and tied them together.”
The result was a train built specifically for the rescue dogs to experience adventures in a unique way.
“Whenever they hear me hooking the tractor up to it, man, they get so excited,” Eugene said. “I am getting older, so I suppose it can’t last too much longer, but I’ll keep it going as long as I can because these dogs have a great time. They just really enjoy it.”

Sure, Eugene’s getting older, but as long as he can keep the train running, those rescued pups are still getting their best adventures.
Through Eugene's inspiring actions, we're reminded that kindness has no age limit and that love can come in many forms—even a train ride for rescued pups.
His commitment to the well-being and happiness of these animals is a testament to his immense compassion, proving that a little ingenuity can make the world a better place, one stray dog at a time.
Don't forget to share this story. Everyone deserves a dopamine boost for the day.
One tractor hookup later, this dog train proves kindness can show up with wheels.
