Woman Devastated When Airline Loses Her Dog, They Gave Her $1,800, Saying It's Not An Offer Of Compensation

Today's post is a sad tale of a traveling owner who lost her dog during her trip. For Paula Rodriguez, who is from the Dominican Republic, losing her dog feels like living a nightmare.
According to the pet owner, there were no direct flights. She was forced to book flights at one of the biggest and busiest airports in the world, Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport.
That was where it all began. When she arrived in Atlanta, she was told that her tourist visa didn't meet the requirements and that she would have to take the next flight.
The staff was unaware that the pet owner's flight was the next day. She waited in a detention center without her dog.
The next morning, when the pet owner was preparing to board, she received the distressing news that her dog was missing, causing her to experience a state of panic as she had no choice but to travel back to the Dominican Republic without her beloved pet.
Paula Rodriguez traveled with her pet dog Maia from the Dominican Republic to the USA for vacation.
Sadly, the airline lost her dog because the staff wasn't aware that her flight was the next day.

Rodriguez believes that her dog got out of its pink travel crate while being interrogated by border patrol officers.
Maia has a microchip, and both Rodriguez and Delta Airlines have reached out to relevant organizations and veterinarians in the county, raising hopes that she might still be somewhere within the airport.
Delta has offered Rodriguez $1,800. They emphasize that this is not compensation but a gesture of empathy, backed by various actions and communications with their customer.
However, a reporter has expressed his view that Delta's efforts to locate the dog are lacking.
The reporter urged people who live near the airport to keep an eye out for Rodriguez's pet.
According to the reporter, the airline staff is still searching for the dog. He also encouraged pet owners to consult with the lawyers of Delta Airlines regarding the investigation.
Paula’s sister Daniela Rodriguez created a GoFundMe page, telling people that they have no choice but to take matters into their own hands.
The pet owner was left sleepless and in constant panic because of what happened. The sister further adds that she doesn't want things to get worse, so she was compelled to reach out for support.
She hopes that her sister and Maia will soon be reunited.
