Sometimes when I watch my dog hork down an inedible object as if it were a piece of rime roast beef I highly doubt the intelligence of dogs, but science would disagree with my perplexed facial expression.
In fact, according to research by animal psychologists, dogs are at least as intelligent as 2-year old children! In an article by telegraph, research shared about dog intelligence included that "dogs are capable of understanding up to 250 words and gestures, can count up to five and can perform simple mathematical calculations."
That's the average dog, by the way. Some dogs are a lot more intelligent, and the dog we're going to share with you today definitely fits the bill of above average intelligence. Arwen is a service dog, specifically trained to help assist autistic individuals, but Arwen's intelligence is practically unparalleled.
