Meet Rudy, A Big, Adorable Shelter Dog Who Has Had No Luck In Finding A New Home
Rudy has spent years waiting for the right family, and the big, fluffy shelter dog still has not caught a break. He was first taken in as a stray by Montgomery County Animal Services, adopted once, and then sadly returned to the shelter after ending up back on the streets.
Since then, the staff has kept hoping someone will see past his size and age, but the same objections keep coming up. Rudy is 6 years old, loves walks, enjoys other dogs, and is the kind of companion who can turn an ordinary day into something better.
For now, his shelter friends are still rooting for him, and Rudy is still waiting for the home that finally sticks.
Meet Rudy, the big shelter dog

Rudy is handling his time at the shelter with grace, which is impressive given that he’s an exceptionally large dog who needs more space to move around and be himself. This is why the shelter wants to find him another home as soon as possible.
Rudy is a good boy who loves people and other dogs!

Right now, Rudy seems to be doing well in the shelter, but he is a large canine and needs a lot more activity before he begins to decline in a home with active people and another dog. Hollifield added that Rudy would likely be best in a home with a fenced yard and people who enjoy walking with him.
That’s the part people keep overlooking.
Rudy loves to go for walks

What people don't understand about Rudy is that all of his 'disadvantages' are actually potential advantages. He's enormous, so there's more of him to cuddle with.
Rudy’s wait feels similar to the dog finally adopted after 2,381 days in the shelter.
Who is a good boy? Rudy is...

He's a bit older, which means he can quickly adapt to new environments and will fit into any family effortlessly. He's happy, inquisitive, and a dog you can have so much fun with.
Now tell me, who wouldn't want to add this dog to their family?
He sounds like the kind of dog people should be lining up for.
Hey you!

Rudy hasn't had much luck in finding the ideal home, but his friends at the shelter haven't given up yet. He would make an extraordinary companion for the family looking for a magnificent German Shepherd mix!
And Rudy is all set

They believe that his dream family is out there somewhere, and they will cherish every tremendous, fluffy inch of him. Hollifield added that even though Rudy might lose some hair, grow larger, and age, his heart and love for this world are still very much valued.
