A Woman Refuses To Choose Another Kitten To Adopt After Finding Out The One She Wanted Was Given Away To Her Friend's Sister
Some kitten drama can turn into a full-on friendship mess fast.
OP and their partner were fostering a mama cat and her kittens, then trying to figure out who would adopt which cat. Their partner's sister wanted Meowzart, and OP later heard from a high school friend at the humane society who also wanted the kitten and offered to help with vaccinations.
That plan fell apart once the friend realized she was not getting the kitten after all, and the whole thing turned into a bigger issue than anyone expected. Read on.
Here's OP's dilemma

OP and their partner found a mama cat that needed help and took her in along with her kittens

OP's partner's sister wanted to get Meowzart but was having a hard time convincing her husband

The situation got messy once more than one person wanted the same kitten.
OP's partner's sister, Lisa, called dibs right away on Meowzart, despite her husband's disagreement regarding getting another cat.
OP wasn't as fazed since they had some time before the kittens could be separated from their mom. They would have time to settle on a decision.
Then after that encounter they met their high school friend "Beth" who was also interested in adopting

When Beth found out she couldn't get the kitten she wanted, she told OP that what they did was wrong

The cats then didn't have anywhere to go

A second interested adopter made everything even more complicated.
A couple of weeks later, OP met their high school friend Beth, who worked at their local humane society. She proposed that she could help them get the kittens vaccinated and that she would adopt a kitten as well as the mom.
She expressed her desire for Meowzart, but OP had to check in with their partner's sister since she had shown interest first. Lisa agreed, despite her husband's refusal, and OP went to Beth to relay that information.
That's when Beth became upset and told OP that because she technically said yes to the kitten first, she should have gotten him. She continued to refuse to adopt any of them and backed out of helping them get vaccinated.
OP later found out that Beth adopted a cat from the humane society instead. They were also left wondering if they were the TA in this situation.
Did OP make the right choice?

Before getting to the comments, OP introduced Feline

And these are the kittens Freddie, Lucifer, Meowzart, Doorstop

Before the comments, OP shared the kittens' names and a little more context.
OP introduced Feline and the kittens Freddie, Lucifer, Meowzart, and Doorstop.
This is just like the woman who refused to return her free breeder kitten, even after it was promised elsewhere.
Even at the bare minimum, she didn't want to adopt anymore; she could have at least helped them somehow after agreeing that she would.

Beth came off as more demanding than genuinely happy to have new pets

The home for Meowzart was already waiting for him before Beth swooped in

The comments were not exactly sympathetic to Beth.

The home for Meowzart was already waiting for him before Beth swooped in.
There's a possibility that Feline Dion wouldn't be in good hands with Beth and that the free vaccinations were a hoax

With how Beth handled the situation, maybe her not getting the cats was for the best

A less demanding and conditional home

On another note, OP and their partner chose pretty cool names

They shared a little history with Lucifer's former name origin

In the end, the kittens found homes, and most people told OP they were not the problem.
The kittens were fortunately adopted in the end, and people assured OP that they weren't TA in this situation.
Not only that, but there is relief that Beth didn't get to adopt since they doubted if her intention was really to care for the kittens. They found her demanding and thought that the kittens deserved a better home.
What started as a simple foster-to-adopt situation turned into a friendship test.
