Stray Cat Regularly Visits A Home And Makes Friends With Indoor Cats Through A Door Screen
Maurice spent years as a homeless cat, drifting around with no real place to call home. Then a curious stray started showing up at Valerie May's house, and everything changed once he noticed the indoor cats watching him through the screen door.
At first, Maurice would linger outside while May worked in her garden, chirping at Fifi and Muggsy from the other side of the door. After a few weeks, May opened the door and let him in, even though his past was still a mystery and no one could say exactly where he came from.
Now Maurice is settling into indoor life, and his bond with the other cats keeps growing. The story only gets sweeter from here.
Maurice lived on the street all of his life.

He met Eddie, who brought him to meet his family. But Eddie died, and Maurice disappeared for a while.

Years ago, May's cat Eddie introduced her to Maurice by bringing him to the house. Medical complications ultimately caused Eddie to pass away, and Maurice temporarily vanished after that.
Then one day he returned. Even though Maurice misses his first true friend, he is now prepared to accept new cats and new indoor adventures.
“Maurice showed up in the alley for dinner, and every evening after that,” May said. “We are so happy to give him what he has so very much wanted and needed for so long.”
No animal should be so lonely. We look forward to watching his personality unfold as he feels more confident and secure.”
That reunion changed everything.
This is similar to a stray cat’s roadside rescue after it was nearly at death’s door, then finding a forever home.
And, after a while, he started dropping by... He made friends with other cats in the house - through the door screen. The house owner decided to adopt him.

Now, he is happy and thriving. He no longer has to search for food, and his coat is shinier than ever.

“It’s so gratifying knowing that one of these formerly homeless kitties is safe,” his owner said.

Maurice has undergone a tremendous transformation since being saved. He's stopped looking for food, and his fur has thickened and grown lustrous.
“It’s so gratifying knowing that one of these formerly homeless kitties is safe,” May said. “I’m spending as much time as I can with him during what I think of as his ‘transitional’ phase, as he learns to be tame and to trust us.”
This is truly a wonderful and inspiring story. Too bad Eddie isn't around to see how it all turned out.
Maurice finally found the kind of home he had been circling all along.
