Chill Cat Found 900 Miles From Home Acts Like Nothing Ever Happened
Sharoo the cat vanished, and for a week, his owner Julie Charters had no idea where he had gone. The friendly domestic shorthair was known for socializing with everyone, which only made his disappearance feel stranger.
Julie had already been searching and posting on Facebook when a knock at the door brought a shocking update, Sharoo was not just missing, he was more than 900 miles away in Florida. The twist was even wilder once the moving van story came out.
By the time Julie got the full explanation, Sharoo had already become a very chill travel story.
"From a cat's perspective, cats will get in any box they can see," Julie said.

"He probably thought he hit the jackpot when he saw all those moving boxes."
Sharoo traveled all the way to Florida in the van! "When they got to St. Augustine on June 27 and opened the door, there he was, relaxed on their couch," Charters wrote.
Sharoo wasn't even upset by all the upheaval; he's just so relaxed and calm. "He's totally made it as a stray because he's so likable," Julie said.

The only problem now was that Sharoo had since gone missing in Florida!

The neighbors hadn't realized the cat had traveled all the way from Texas when they found him, so they didn't worry too much about catching him.
Of course, the curious cat wandered off, and the neighbors didn't know where he had gone by the time they realized it was Sharoo. Poor Julie was distraught with worry, and she began putting up flyers and posting on various Facebook pages.
"Within 12 hours of posting the flyer, multiple people said they had seen him," Julie said. "None of them took him in because he seemed so relaxed and well-fed."

It’s like the turtle found 5 miles away after missing for 3 years.
Once again, Sharoo's calm nature worked against him.

"They thought he was a neighbor's pet."

Thankfully, a lovely couple found Sharoo and recognized him. They took him home and kept him safe until Julie could come and collect him.

Of course, Julie flew to Florida straight away.

Ironically, Sharoo was named after Saroo from the movie "Lion." Saroo was a little boy from India who fell asleep on a train and ended up lost and a long way from home.
Sounds familiar, doesn't it, Sharoo? "Not very many people get their cat back when they go missing, especially not 1,000 miles away," a relieved Julie said.
What a happy ending to a great story. Don't ever change, Sharoo!
