Japanese Corgi Dog's Adorable Facial Expressions Make Him An Internet Celebrity
Gen, a Japanese corgi with a tail, has become the kind of dog people stop scrolling for. His expressive face, playful energy, and tiny bursts of drama have turned everyday moments into internet gold. But behind the cute photos is a dog living with serious health problems, and his story makes those funny expressions hit a little differently.
Still, Gen keeps smiling through it all, and that is exactly why so many people cannot look away.

Gen's owners said the corgi loves being around humans, whether it's them or people he meets outside. Still, the dapper dog has had his share of misfortune.
"Gen was born with hereditary chronic renal failure. It cannot be cured," the dog's owner explained.
"This disease causes Gen to experience polyuria (urinating more than usual), polydipsia (being thirsty all the time), anemia, malaise, and high blood pressure. To make matters worse, Gen was also born with other convulsive seizures and prostatic hyperplasia."

Unfortunately, this adorable dog is a regular clinic patient, and he will be for the rest of his life. At the moment, he undergoes dialysis three times a week, receives four injections, and takes six types of medication.
"He also gets a blood test and an echo test once a month," his owner explained. "His diet is a special one, centered around his renal failure. All his treats are additive-free and made in Japan."
Even with all that care, Gen still manages to look like he has opinions about everything.
However, when it comes to his facial expressions, they're genuine because he has a happy life. "A dog is family. Even if a puppy comes to you with many incurable diseases it has had since birth, it's not a reason to let go of it."
"Yes, Gen will live a much shorter life than your average dog, and yes, his treatment costs a significant amount of money, but we, his owners, will continue to provide him with the best treatment we can and enormous amounts of love."
"I believe that sticking to your treatment and spending time with your loved ones are the secrets to having a great, albeit short, life."
