Norwegian Fisherman Finds A Crab That Has Human Teeth, And It Is Terrifying
We are spending billions of dollars on deep space exploration, trying to uncover the secrets of the universe, yet we have so many mysteries to discover right here on Earth. We think we know our planet inside and out, but that’s a common misconception.
For instance, vast parts of the oceans remain unexplored. Come to think of it, even land still holds plenty of secrets.
It is not unusual to hear about new animal discoveries in the Amazon. However, the latest intriguing find comes from the ocean.
The tremendous depth of the water has once again bewildered the internet, just as we were beginning to get over some of the earlier bizarre aquatic creatures discovered on beaches around the world. This time, a picture of an unusual catch made by a deep-sea fisherman is going viral online.
The crab, which appears to have a full set of human teeth, was retrieved by the fisherman from the depths of the sea, according to the now-famous photos. Roman Fedortsov, a Norwegian trawlerman who has developed a reputation for publishing his strangest catches, found the toothy crustacean.
The crab, which we've named Gums, leers at the camera and smiles broadly, seemingly unperturbed by the attention from people. Gums the crab's species and whether or not he's a freak of nature remain unknown.
Take a look at these fascinating photos:
A fisherman found this crab in one of his nets:

Tagging his new find, Roman said, "Crabs… All the same, there is something attractive and repulsive about them. Mother Nature tried."
Many of Roman's fans praised the crusty old Gums in the comments posted beneath his post.
One said: "Just a little dental work and the little fella will be just fine."
"Love those human teeth!" said another.
Additionally, one user detailed the deformity of the creature, commenting, “This is just a deformity of the shell. Take a look at different pictures of a crab's shell around the front end, and you will see that this crab’s front lower shell has split due to the deformity.”
It has a nice set of teeth

Fedortsov works on a trawler. They have massive nets fastened to the back.
The nets are pulled along the ocean floor or at a specific depth, capturing any creatures that come into contact with them. Even though fishermen may be hunting for a certain kind of fish, this technique inevitably captures other organisms that lie in the nets' path.
The nets frequently reach depths of 980 to 3,300 feet, which means that less frequently seen deep-water species will occasionally be pulled to the surface.
Even though the image of a crab with teeth has gained immense popularity, it still hasn't reached any marine biologists who could offer an explanation or even a species name for this intriguing find.
For now, we simply have to be satisfied with the notion that our planet is a wonderful place that holds so many secrets we love to discover, and they never cease to amaze us.
We can't wait for the next post. Who knows what this fisherman will find next?
