Some of the most unsettling photos online are unsettling because they feel too real. A bat in a headset, a wall of spiders, or a surprise visitor in the living room can turn an ordinary day into something straight out of a nightmare.
The images in this collection capture exactly that kind of shock. From strange animals and creepy discoveries to scenes that are hard to explain at first glance, each one shows a moment people would rather not experience in person.
