Artist's Reimagined Disney-Style Pet Portraits Leave Their Owners In Awe
Photos and videos aren't always enough to capture the whimsy and magic our pets bring into our lives. Fortunately, an Italian illustrator found that combining the joy Disney embodies with the beauty of animals is the best way to immortalize them.
Alessia Ciullo, the artist, has been drawing since childhood. She mostly drew people, and her early commissions were for anime and manga characters.
Alessia said in an interview that she didn't have formal training but diligently practiced to improve her skills. In fact, the Disney-style portrait of her dog was her first animal drawing.
She illustrated him that way because it looked "simple" for a beginner. She posted the drawing on Reddit and was met with positive feedback from the community!
Not long after that, Redditors asked if she was open for commissions. They were so impressed with her work that they wanted their pets reimagined in her signature style!
As a dog owner, Alessia is a little biased as her favorite to draw are dogs. However, she can't help but be amused when she gets requests for cats, reptiles, bunnies, and hamsters!
