Artist's Reimagined Disney-Style Pet Portraits Leave Their Owners in Awe
Photos and videos aren't always enough to capture the whimsy and magic our pets bring into our lives. Fortunately, an Italian illustrator discovered that combining the joy Disney embodies with the beauty of animals is the best way to immortalize them.
Alessia Ciullo, the artist, has been drawing since childhood. She primarily drew people, and her early commissions were for anime and manga characters.
Alessia mentioned in an interview that she didn't have formal training but diligently practiced to improve her skills. In fact, the Disney-style portrait of her dog was her first animal drawing.
She illustrated him that way because it seemed "simple" for a beginner. She posted the drawing on Reddit and received positive feedback from the community!
Not long after that, Redditors asked if she was open for commissions. They were so impressed with her work that they wanted their pets reimagined in her signature style!
As a dog owner, Alessia is a little biased, as her favorite subjects to draw are dogs. However, she can't help but be amused when she receives requests for cats, reptiles, bunnies, and hamsters!
