Adorable Dog Can't Contain His Excitement After Getting 400 Tennis Balls for His Birthday
Some birthday gifts are sweet, and some are so over the top they instantly become the whole story. Titus, a Belgian Malinois with a serious love for playtime, got the kind of present most dogs could only dream about: 400 tennis balls.
His mom, Alistair Clyde, knew exactly what would make him happiest, especially since Titus and his Chihuahua brother, Bear, are already the stars of the house. Instead of settling for a small pack of balls, she went all in for Titus’ second birthday and ordered enough tennis balls to take over the living room.
That decision turned into chaos almost immediately, and Titus was thrilled from the first second. Read on.
“Titus is the goofiest boy,” Clyde told The Dodo. “He loves to play 24/7. He’s also the smartest dog I’ve ever had.”

“I was like, ‘What would he want for his birthday? What’s his favorite thing in the world? Tennis balls. No brainer!’”

“I saw that you could buy 30, 60, 200, or 400 tennis balls,” Clyde said. “I first picked the 60-pack and was like, ‘What? No. That’s not good enough. He deserves ALL the tennis balls!’”

As soon as the balls arrived, Clyde instantly knew that her surprise would quickly be ruined.
As expected, Titus managed to sniff out the boxes and ripped them open, pulling out two balls before she could stop him.
But when the big day finally arrived, Clyde finished what Titus started and dumped all of the remaining balls out on the floor. Tennis balls went everywhere and managed to get under most of the furniture.
“At first, he was a little taken aback when I dumped them,” Clyde said. “It took about five seconds for him to start running around like a maniac in excitement.”
That birthday surprise did exactly what it was supposed to do.
Here's the video:
Titus’ older brother chose to observe from a safe distance and was not particularly impressed with the tennis balls.
"[He's] getting a little older, so he stays on my lap and watches," Clyde said. "He got treats, so he knew he was special and loved, too."
The house was still covered in tennis balls days later. Clyde is still on a mission to collect them all and plans to keep a few for Titus and donate the rest to a local shelter.
The house may never fully recover.
