Interacting with people's dogs is always a gamble; some dogs are less social than others, and you can never predict how they will react to your approach. That's why it's crucial to ask for the owner's permission before rushing and doing anything that might backfire on you. 

Some dogs are visibly friendly and will even come to you if the opportunity presents itself. They want to get as much love from people as they possibly can, and that means potentially interacting with every passerby. 

Friendly dogs sometimes find themselves in weird situations when they approach someone who's either not that big of a fan of dogs or scared of dogs. That's something their owners constantly have to look out for to avoid any negative confrontations. 

A Redditor who goes by the username u/brewerythrowawaysdf made a post on the r/AmItheA**hole where he explained how he and his wife got kicked out of a dog-friendly brewery after he had an extreme reaction to an unleashed dog repeatedly approaching their table. The user believes they got treated unfairly but is still unsure whether he had the appropriate reaction.
