Adorable Dog, Poppy, Surprisingly Delivers Her Babies While Having Her Pregnancy Photoshoot
Poppy arrived at her foster home already very pregnant, and her foster mom, Cifelli, spent the day making sure she stayed calm, comfortable, and well fed. Nothing about the morning suggested labor was close, so Poppy lounged in the sun, climbed into a chair on the deck, and acted like it was just another quiet day.
Then Cifelli decided to snap a few pregnancy photos, and that is when the whole plan changed. While she was taking pictures, she noticed Poppy licking someone on the chair, and the first puppy suddenly appeared.
What followed was a surprise delivery, a very busy deck, and seven healthy puppies before the day was over. Read on.

There were no signs that Poppy was ready to give birth yet
Poppy had apparently been so comfortable and content resting outside on the board that she decided it was time to give birth right there on the spot, and her foster mom was completely shocked. Cifelli gently moved the puppy inside after witnessing what had just happened, and Poppy happily followed her.

She got the pair settled in, after which Poppy gave birth to six more pups. Cifelli was sure Poppy had had pups before, and she was right. She definitely appeared to be a seasoned mom, as she was very relaxed during her delivery and clearly knew what to do.
And yes, this chaos feels similar to a dad who stepped away for a diaper and returned to find his dog cleaning baby mess.

Despite surprising her foster mom, the rest of Poppy’s delivery went very smoothly, and her pups are truly the loveliest things ever. There were no complications, and all her puppies were healthy and sound.

The puppies are now three and a half weeks old, and all seven of them, along with their mother, are doing well. Everyone is looking forward to finding Poppy a home where she can find the peace and comfort she so richly deserves.

When a dog is about to go into labor, they usually lose interest in food and begin nesting. Poppy, on the other hand, had a large breakfast and was resting just as she had the day before.
