Rescued Dog Named Andi Wouldn’t Let Go of Her Pig Toy, Whom She Believes Is Her "Baby"
Andi, a rescued Shih Tzu, has one favorite thing in the world, a little pink pig toy she treats like it is her baby. The squeaky toy set off a surprising reaction, and soon her family realized this was more than ordinary playtime.
Her mom, Jennifer Tripucka, noticed Andi carrying the pig everywhere, crying over it, and even trying to nurse it. After Andi was spayed, a veterinarian confirmed she was going through a phantom pregnancy, which helped explain the intense attachment.
Now the tiny pig has become part of the family routine, and Andi is not giving it up anytime soon.
Andi’s favorite toy in the world is a little pink pig that squeaks like a newborn pup

Andi’s mom says that she also tries to nurse the pig toy.
Sometimes she forgets about it, leaves the area where it is, and circles looking for it and crying. Then she finds it and moves on to a new spot to nest in. It’s the perfect size, like her puppies might be, she added.
That little pig clearly means everything to her.
Andi was experiencing a “phantom pregnancy,” which can happen to female dogs after the surgery

Andi happens to be the second animal Tripucka is rescuing from Wise Animal Rescue, alongside her elder dog brother named Finn. The adorable little pup also has another senior dog sibling named Pierre, but he’s sick with cancer.
Andi has essentially been a therapy dog for the two little pups, which is so endearing. She’s also a therapy dog to us, as we go through this tough time with our older dog, she added.
Andi’s “baby” obsession feels similar to the SIL who got reprimanded after the rescue dog was surrendered.
Below is a video of Andi with her beloved toy pig.
Andi’s mom says that the little cute girl came into their lives very unexpectedly and at a time when she really needed an additional sweet soul to add to her family.
She is just the gentlest, most loving, and wonderful pup you could ever imagine. I truly couldn’t imagine life without her.
She sounds like the kind of dog who wins everyone over fast.
Andi’s heart is big enough for her parents, siblings, and her toy pig “baby”

It’s truly heartwarming to see this little cutie caring for a toy in that manner. This obviously means that Andi’s heart is large enough for her pawrents, her siblings, and her "baby" toy pig.
