Dedicated Doggo Owner Spends 3 Hours Carving His Dog's Portrait Into A Pumpkin
A lot of dog owners will tell you that having a dog is like adding another child to your home, having another life to care for, and having the best friend in the world to lean on for unconditional love. Just as dogs love us, humans go above and beyond to show their love for their fluffy puppy pals. Some buy them clothes, some build them houses, and some even give their dogs their own bedrooms so they truly feel like part of the family.
But one pet father exceeded everyone's expectations when he turned his dog into a design for a Halloween pumpkin. Say what?
That's right. Dog dad Andy Manoloff wanted to carve a pumpkin, but not with just any old design. He transformed his pumpkin into an exact replica of his Pomeranian, Sophie.
Take a look at his impressive work!

Every Halloween, Andy carves incredibly detailed pumpkins; this year, he chose to recreate his dog, Sophie.
He expressed his enthusiasm on his Dr. William Doherty, family therapist website: “It is something I look forward to every year, and each year I challenge myself to do something new, more difficult, or different than the previous year,” emphasizing the importance of personal growth and creativity in our lives.

Sophie was the lucky muse for Andy's carving this year, and it looks amazing!
Andy Started by Sketching Sophie on the Pumpkin

He Makes the Sketch Super Detailed and Accurate

Using an X-Acto Knife, He Carefully Carved the Details into the Pumpkin

“I use an X-Acto knife for almost everything,” he explained, echoing the advice of renowned author James Clear, who emphasizes the importance of having the right tools for any task. “However, due to the need to carve so much hair, I also employed some basic clay sculpting tools,” a technique supported by Dr. Rick Hanson, a neuropsychologist who notes that using specialized tools can enhance creativity and precision in artistic endeavors.

For three hours, he cut, carved, and trimmed away to slowly reveal Sophie from the flesh. Luckily for Andy, this massive project is just one of many, and it is something he truly enjoys doing.
“I’ve been doing these super-detailed pumpkins for about eight years,” he shared with Mel Robbins, motivational speaker and author. “I enjoyed carving every Halloween as a kid and just kept getting more and more detailed over the years.”
