Many dog owners live busy working lives, and as such are unable to take care of their doggy companions all day long. Rather than leave their dogs at home alone, likely to bark all day and annoy the neighbors or run around and destroy the place, some owners choose to take their dogs to doggie daycare.
For those unfamiliar, it is basically like daycare for children, but aimed at the dogs. There are trained staff there to look after them, play with them, feed them, and supervise them all day long.
It is also a good way for dogs to socialize, become comfortable around other dogs, and got some extra training. Many dogs love having friends and really benefit from the extra socialization, attention, and having other doggie friends.
Not all dogs thrive in doggy daycare, some of them have problems or cause trouble and this leads to them being removed from the program. Honestly if you can get through this poster that having flashbacks to school then well done and try and focus on the dogs instead.
Dog owners have come online to share some of the reasons their dogs were expelled, or asked not to come back, to doggy daycare. Luckily it doesn't seem to have stopped these owners loving their dogs any less now they have been certified as trouble
If there was an anti-bullying seminar for dogs, all of these should attend! And if the seminar doesn't work, they will probably gang up and take over the world and we will have no choice but to watch them.
At least she got a warning note first before it leads to disciplinary action!
I shudder to think what "mass hysteria" looks like in a dog kennel.
Some of these dogs are just straight-up bullies, right? Is it my imagination or are some of these dogs sound like little terrors who have not thrived in this environment, and would perhaps be more suited to a stricter obedience school?
Which is okay-- we're not all made to be social creatures, but surely, it's got to be a little bit embarrassing to be told that your dog is not welcome in one of the friendliest places on earth: doggy daycare. Are you a dog owner whose dog has been told that it is no longer welcome?
