Redditors Roast Man For Saying GF's Cat Has Obvious Signs Of Dwarfism (Pictures)
There are several causes of cat dwarfism, commonly referred to as osteochondrodysplasia or achondroplasia. Pituitary dwarfism is brought on by a problem with the brain's pituitary gland, which causes hormonal problems that impede the kitten's growth.
At first, cats with this illness seem normal, but as they become older, they exhibit symptoms like short legs, a larger-than-normal head, and lethargy. Due to improper growth plate closure, osteochondrodysplasia causes aberrant bone development.
Shorter legs or other asymmetrical limb growth are common manifestations of this. Although dwarfism may make cats appear "cute," it can result in a lifetime of illnesses.
Cats with dwarfism may exhibit aberrant spine shape, swollen joints, and poor growth, among other symptoms. There is no cure for arthritis, and pain management requires ongoing treatment.
This is what the OP of today's story thought was wrong with one of his GF's cats. One of the cats is a calico and is built completely normal, which piqued the OP's interest with the second cat.
Cat number 2, Cannoli, has very short front legs compared to cat number 1. When the OP brought it up to his girlfriend, she defended Cannoli, saying that she had perfectly proportional legs.
Now the OP doesn’t mind if the cat is perfectly proportional, however he thinks it would be kind of fun to figure out what breed it is. Dive into the entire story as you scroll down below.
The OP writes...

When it comes to a cat that’s a mutt, it’s kind of fun to figure out what breed it is

She was not amused and continued defending the perfection of Cannoli’s leg heights

The OP went ahead to share some images of the cat and here they are...

Cannoli lil legs

Here is the cat in another position

OP has offered the following explanation for why they think they might be the AH:
I think I’m the AH because I upset my girlfriend by insulting her cat potentially. I don’t think I’m the AH, I just think that cat breeds are interesting
And the comments from other Redditors roll in...

The cat's legs looks perfectly normal

This Redditor just had to take it a step higher

The cat looks normal to this Redditor

That is just a cat

A cat with a weight problem

The cat's leg seem like a reasonable length

That is not a munchkin cat

The OP left this update saying...
I now see that I was the AH in this situation, however I think the comment section needed to chill a bit lmao. My girlfriend wasn’t too upset about my post when she found it, but when she read all the comments about how “fat” cannoli was she was very sad.
I now see that cannoli is a normal cat with just some shorter front legs, but that doesn’t mean she’s a munchkin. I did get a couple vets in here with different opinions though so maybe I’ll look into it at a vet one day lol. Thank you for sharing your opinions but please stop saying cannoli is fat. In conclusion YOU are the AHs…
And that's a wrap!
