Jinx The Wide-Eyed Black Cat Inaugurated As Mayor Of Hell For A Day
Black cats get a bad rap from the most common superstitions. They are said to be a favorite companion of witches and therefore bring bad luck to anyone who dares to cross their path.
The superstitions may be outdated, but some folks still believe them. One cat, in particular, is undoing a lot of the damage from the past.
Jinx, a rescued stray cat, has recently captured the jaded hearts of internet dwellers. Mia, Jinx's human, unexpectedly encountered Jinx in her backyard, meowing.
Mia estimated that Jinx was about three weeks old at that time and took her in. As time passed, Mia noticed Jinx's unusually large eyes and paws.
Their vet says Jinx is completely normal; her wide eyes and large paws are just a birth defect. Her paws do hinder her agility, but her Bambi-like eyes melt hearts all over.
Jinx is what you can consider a pet influencer, a TikTok and Instagram celebrity. She has well over 700,000 followers on TikTok and 450,000 fans on Instagram.
This is not Jinx's most notable achievement to date. The California kitty was recently inaugurated as a mayor.
It all started as a joke when Mia asked their fans on Twitter about Jinx entering the world of politics. Obviously, people thought this was a great idea and pointed them to the town of Hell, Michigan.

It was temporary, of course, and all for the reasonable price of $100. The Mayor-for-the-day package is part of Hell, Michigan's gimmick.
As part of her Mayoral duties, Jinx had the privilege to rule the town from a distance
She was sworn in by the town reverend over the phone, as Jinx insisted on staying in her cozy California home. The Mayor-for-the-day package included a mayoral proclamation certificate, a Hell souvenir mug, a shirt from Hell, and one square inch of property in the town.

Jinx's rule was considered to be a relatively peaceful time for the town of Hell.
The Mayor ruled with four furry fists and declared an all-hands-on-deck approach during her term.
She didn't have to resort to underhanded tactics of using her baby pictures to gain the mom votes from the town.
Still, her love for hair ties and tiny toe beans won her the mayoral seat with a landslide vote.
The town couldn't love their doe-eyed, long-legged ruler more.
Unfortunately, too many folks were crossing the Mayor's personal space and couldn't resist her adorableness.

Her sweet face and large paws weren't enough to keep the town under her spell, and Mayor Jinx was impeached after a full day of peaceful rule. It's fortunate that Jinx has Mia to cuddle her through these rough times.
It's your loss, Hell. The former Mayor declined all requests for interviews and is believed to be recovering from the betrayal.
It's a missed opportunity for the people of Hell when they chose to impeach the best Mayor they've had in years. Jinx was a truly benevolent leader, but she was ahead of her time.
