Man Gets Ambushed By An Army Of Kittens After Rescuing One On The Side Of The Road, Ends Up Saving Them All
One roadside stop turned into a full-on kitten rescue when Robert Brantley spotted a black and white kitten and pulled over to help. What looked like a single abandoned animal quickly became something much bigger, and a lot more chaotic.
As Robert checked on the first kitten, more and more little faces started appearing from the grass. By the end of it, he had rescued 13 kittens, taken them home, and started caring for them with help from his wife, Courtney.
Now the story has gone viral, and the kittens are getting attention, care, and adoption interest. Read on.
While driving to a shooting range, a man named Robert noticed a black and white kitten on the side of the road. Instead of just passing by, he decided to stop and rescue the poor little one.

Robert picked up the kitten—who also excitedly approached him—and examined it. However, he was met with a surprise—more kittens!
“Oh no, there’s a whole… Oh my gosh!” he says in the video when he recorded the moment. “I can’t take y’all. Oh my gosh. Oh my gosh, there’s more! We got a kitten problem.”

That was only the beginning.
Without any other warning, Robert was ambushed by an army of kittens, popping out from the grass as if they had been waiting for this moment since the very day they were abandoned on the side of the road.

There were exactly 12 other kittens that appeared right after Robert examined the black and white kitten he spotted. The small felines circled Robert and nudged his ankles, as if saying, "Take us, too!"
Of course, he hesitated about whether he should take them all in. He and his family already had their own pets, but he didn't want to leave these poor kitties behind.
So, Robert instantly became a dad to 13 stray felines he had just found on the road. “The tactical Honda was not prepared for this,” he joked in another Instagram post.

He had gone from rescuing one kitten to rescuing a whole litter in minutes.
The thirteen kittens were all rescued by Robert that day, and they were all placed inside his Honda through a window since they kept leaping out of the door.
“I couldn’t keep up with them as I would throw one in and two would jump out. So I had to close the door with the window down and funnel ’em in. That would have been good footage, actually.”

He quickly realized that someone must have dumped the kittens on the road even when they knew these poor animals couldn't fend for themselves yet.

Regardless of his unpreparedness, he managed to foster the kittens and provide them with food, shelter, and visits to the vet.

Then the rescue started getting a lot bigger online, too.
Robert shared footage of the special moment on his Instagram, and it quickly went viral, with over 32 million views. The video was also reposted on other websites.

Courtney, Robert's wife, started a TikTok account to give subscribers updates about the kittens, and Robert continued to post on Instagram.

The kittens now seem a lot happier, and Robert has provided them with plenty of fun time, including baths, little photoshoots, and even a mini pool!

It also echoes the teen dragged online for snapping at their grandparents over saving a cat and her kittens.
They sure got lucky that it was Robert who found them and took them all in.

But he was still determined to find homes for each of the thirteen kittens. He didn't have to go through difficulties since thousands of applications have been sent.

Two out of the thirteen felines have already been adopted and are now in Alexandria, LA. Others are still in line due to checkups.

“I want people to know that no matter how much bad you see in the world, there’s still a lot of people doing good things and not doing it for recognition,” Robert said.

Some people expressed concerns about Robert's work and hobbies since he works in the gun industry. Other people seemed to not like that.
“I work in the gun industry, and… some people have taken that negatively. And a lot of people, for which I’m very thankful, have said, like, ‘Wow… I’m surprised you’re not such a violent person’ or ‘You still have compassion and stuff.’”

But he has proved that regardless of his interests, he truly has the heart to save these kittens from further harm, and he did!
Take a look at the reactions of people who heard Robert's story online:

This person thinks Robert was in the right place at the right time.
Maybe they sensed that Robert was really a good guy!

Another reaction keeps it short and sweet.
Such a brave one.

Someone else joked that the whole thing felt strategic.
It was a tactical strategy all along!

Yep, that's one way to put it: a cat lady starter kit.

But at the end of the day, it's really tragic that those kittens had to suffer first.

May the person who dumped them find remorse.

And plenty of people were just happy the kittens ended up with someone kind.
He and his wife have the biggest hearts!

We're sure grateful that Robert had the heart to save all these kittens and didn't just leave them on the road, hoping that some other person would find them instead, because who knows how long they would have waited for the next kindhearted person to pass by?
