Talented Photographer Gets Adopted By A Squirrel And Shares 22 Adorable Pictures Of It
A Montreal photographer got the kind of “baby portrait session” she never planned, when a squirrel named Little Twig decided to move in on the spotlight. Lucy’s camera was ready for newborns, lifestyle families, and weddings, but this tiny visitor had other ideas, and apparently, a lot of opinions.
What made it complicated is that Lucy did not just photograph him from a distance. Little Twig climbed, posed, and snuggled like he owned the place, soaking up the attention while Lucy tried to keep everything looking perfect, from the angles to the cozy vibe. The result is 22 adorable pictures that feel warm, chaotic, and weirdly heartfelt, like the squirrel was adopting her back.
And once you see how he sleeps, clings, and stares right back at the camera, you’ll understand why Lucy couldn’t resist.
1. Hi hoomans

2. It's a beautiful day, right?

3. Want to walk with me?

4. So adorable?

5. That feels so warm

6. Upside down angle

7. I'm holding on

Right off the bat, Little Twig shows up during Lucy’s unconventional session, and suddenly “cute animal photos” are the whole plan.
As a photographer based in Montreal, Lucy's areas of expertise include newborns, lifestyle families, and weddings. This was an unconventional baby portrait session that she couldn't resist!
Lucy decided to give Little Twig his own spotlight in front of the camera because he has such a large personality and is so adorable when he sleeps.
8. That is so comfy

9. My hooman is pretty nice

10. And yes, I see you

11. Oh no, not today

12. How are you today?

13. It's a bright day

Then Lucy leans into it, letting him take over the frame while she works around his big personality and tiny naps.
It’s also like the maternal pit bull who warmly embraced an orphaned squirrel, treating her as mom.
The pictures get even wilder when he’s posed in all sorts of angles, including that upside-down moment where he’s clearly holding on.
Like everyone else, the photographer is a sucker for cute animal photos, but she prefers to have more creative freedom than animal photography offers because it requires a lot of handling, adjusting, and patience. She also enjoys the more relaxed vibe of weddings and families with small children or newborns.
Lucy also takes pleasure in the relationships she builds with the people she meets thanks to her job.
14. Trying a white and black background

15. Here is the little me

16. Learning how to navigate life

17. It's the break of dawn

18. I'm just going to snuggle right here

19. Okay, leave my zone

20. Let's play

21. Sleeping peacefully

22. My natural habitat

By the time Little Twig is snuggling, playing, and chilling in what looks like his natural habitat, you can’t help but wonder who actually adopted whom.
Since Lucy has always been fascinated by people and their behavior, she finds working on personal events to be more intriguing than working on commercial or product projects, where the elements are heavily staged and stylized. Through this career path, she gets to explore her human attraction to the "realness" of actual events and people documented in photography.
