Kate Cummings was there too, recording the video as the whale surged up and then crashed back down, leaving everyone staring at the water like, wait, did that just happen?
And once those images went viral, it turned a normal sightseeing trip into a “how is this even real” moment.

Kate Cummings, a whale watcher who was able to record a video of the whale bursting out of the water, also assisted . Here is what they had to say to the media:
"It was exhilarating to witness such a magnificent creature. Whales often breach multiple times as part of their natural behavior, which can indicate they are preparing for a powerful leap, showcasing their strength and agility."
Speaking of jaw-dropping wildlife, a rare 40-ton humpback whale completely leaping out of the ocean left internet users stunned.

The photographers’ angle mattered, because seeing that humpback whale’s size and power up close made the moment feel unreal.
For those who don't know, mature humpback whales are 12–16 m (39–52 ft) long and weigh about 25–30 metric tons (28–33 short tons). Whale watchers love these enormous marine mammals for their breaching and other unique activities.
