A pregnant golden retriever, a pile of junk food, and one perfectly timed photo were enough to send the internet into a frenzy. Kula’s sleepy pose, surrounded by snacks, looks a lot like a human pregnancy craving moment, and that is exactly why people loved it.
Her owner shared the picture on @heyitskula, where Kula is expecting puppies and posing with a pint of Häagen-Dazs, soda, an In-N-Out Burger bag, and a jar of pickles. The post turned into a viral hit almost immediately, and the rest of Kula’s story is just as adorable.
Now the puppies are here, and Kula’s family keeps finding new ways to melt hearts.
“We’re gonna need a lot more pickles, ice cream, and @innout pupper patties soon! #preggo #makingpuppies,” the caption says.

Kula’s owner is probably feeding her doggy ice cream, but using human ice cream in the photo makes it funnier.
This is not the first time Kula is pregnant; her second pregnancy was announced similarly on Instagram, with her older daughter, Rodney, holding a board that says, “I’m excited to announce… I’m going to be a big sister!”
“Rodney is just about to burst with the pawsome news she wants to share,” the caption says.
It is as sweet as any human pregnancy announcement posted on social media!

They definitely share a strong mother-daughter bond, and they love snuggling.
Rodney will now have to learn to share her mom with her new brothers and sisters: Kula gave birth to eight puppies. A photo was posted on Instagram on Jan. 16:
“Little purple girl is one of eight, and she is still wet behind the ears… literally!” the post says. “Thanks for all of your good wishes; they each mean so much to us!”
It also mentions that Kula was in labor for over 30 hours with a 6-hour delivery. She definitely deserves more treats.
