Rosie’s story starts with heartbreak, then takes a turn nobody saw coming. The Golden Retriever mix was abandoned while heavily pregnant, but after being rescued by Neuse River Golden Retriever Rescue, she ended up giving birth to a litter that looked nothing like her.
Katie and John Black, who have fostered more than 20 dogs since 2009, were the ones caring for Rosie when the puppies arrived. Instead of tiny Golden Retriever lookalikes, they got four black-and-white spotted pups that left everyone doing a double take.
Rosie may have had the last laugh, though, because her babies are impossible to ignore.
After being abandoned, Rosie was taken to Neuse River Golden Retriever Rescue and was later fostered by Katie and John Black.
Katie and John have fostered more than 20 dogs since 2009.

It was a complete shock to both Katie and John that the puppies Rosie had bore no resemblance to their mother.
"Not quite what we were expecting. Our foster dog, a Golden mix, gave birth yesterday. To baby cows." Katie later said in a post on Reddit.
The Puppies
These four black and white spotted puppies were creatively named Daisy, Betsy, Clarabelle, and Moo. It is unclear what breed the puppies' father was for them to look so different from their mother.
The look of confusion on Rosie's face is incredible.
Rosie and the puppies will all remain with Katie and John until the puppies have grown. At that time, all dogs will find permanent loving homes.
