Stunning Images From Travel Photographer Of The Year 2025
The results of the 2025 International Travel Photographer of the Year (TPOTY) competition are now public, offering a striking look at some of the most compelling travel images captured over the past year.
The selected photographs highlight the wide scope of modern travel photography, ranging from expressive portraits and unexpected everyday moments to sweeping landscapes that reflect the beauty and complexity of the natural world. Together, they show remarkable places but also the people, wildlife, and traditions that shape them.
This year’s competition also marks a historic moment for the awards. For the first time, the overall title has gone to a photographer from Greece. Athanasios Maloukos earned the top honor for a powerful, deeply atmospheric series that stood out to the judges. His images include scenes from Konya, Turkey, where a moment of spiritual devotion unfolds in motion, as well as a dramatic depiction of the “Yacente” procession during the Night of Sorrows in Zamora, Spain.
Although Maloukos considers himself an amateur photographer, his work demonstrates a strong commitment to documenting culture and human experience through the lens of travel. His photographs focus on moments that reveal the traditions, emotions, and rituals that define different communities.
Alongside the winning series, the competition features a diverse selection of finalist images from around the world. These photographs invite viewers to explore remote landscapes, vibrant cities, and quiet personal moments that might otherwise go unnoticed.
