Cat Has A Rare Genetic Condition Responsible For Its Unique Two-Toned Eyes
Odd Eyed Olive is the kind of cat that makes you stop scrolling. With one striking blue eye and one that looks completely different, this Oriental-crossbreed has the sort of look that feels almost too unusual to be real.
Olive lives in the UK with her human, Kim, who had no idea what her kitten’s eyes would eventually become when she first brought her home. The result is a cat with a rare genetic condition and a face that people cannot help staring at.
And once you see Olive’s eyes, it is hard to look away.

Olive is an Oriental-crossbreed cat.
She has a rare genetic condition that typically affects white cats and has caused her eyes to have their stunning, unique appearance. Her eye condition is called sectoral heterochromia iridis, which appears half-brown and half-blue in each eye.

It is believed the condition targets white cats because of their lower melanin levels.

Olive lives in the UK with her human, Kim.
Kim, a young woman in her 50s, bought Olive as a kitten!

However, when Kim bought Olive, she had no clue what her eyes would eventually look like.

A tiny surprise was already waiting in the light.
Olive’s rare two-toned eyes fit right beside the oddball charm of 14 unique cat breeds you don’t see every day.
A lively kitty, indeed.
In an interview, Kim explained:
"I found the kittens on a pet-for-sale website. I was looking for another kitty to join the family to make it four. I wanted a lively kitten to fit in with my others."

Surprise Eyes!
She continued:
"I didn't choose her for her eyes. It was quite dark, and when I picked her up, the lady lifted her into the light and said she might have odd-looking eyes."
"I didn't know how her eyes would turn out," says Kim, Olive's human companion.
Olive lives with three other kitty siblings. She has been on Instagram since June of 2017, and her birthday is in May.

That is one unforgettable first impression.
