This Dog-Loving Bar Has A Wall Dedicated To Every Good Boy And Girl Who Visits
The Mad Ox in Pontefract has found a simple way to win over dog owners, and it starts with a wall full of happy faces. In a country where pubs are part of daily life, the bar has leaned all the way into being dog-friendly, with free Puppuccinos, treats, toys, and space for pets to roam wherever they like.
Every visiting dog gets a photo on the pub's growing dog wall, turning regular stop-ins into something people want to show off. The idea came from the owners' family, and it has already made the place stand out from other bars in the area.
Now the only question is how long it takes before the whole wall is covered.

People come just to get their dog on the wall. Customers' adorable dogs will soon cover the walls of the pub. The largest photograph is a hand-drawn portrait of Freddie, an English bulldog. Along with bulldogs Xena and Dolly, he is a member of the Jeffrey family. Don't expect the Jeffreys to choose a favorite customer.
I love them all. But so far, my favorite has probably been a huge Labrador named Larry. He was so big and happy, and his photo is so cute.

“We absolutely love dogs and wanted to create something special to set us apart from every other bar.”

Allowing the nation's 8.5 million dog owners to bring their companions with them for a pint or a bite to eat could make all the difference to a venue's survival.
In fact, the Kennel Club is urging landlords and pub owners to trial a dog-friendly policy to see the positive effects it could have on their business. We agree with that idea.
It will make the bars more enjoyable, and it will increase their income. As for the United States, unless they are service animals, which are protected under the Americans with Disabilities Act, dogs are usually not allowed in restaurants.
However, lawmakers and pet owners in many communities are debating whether all dogs should be allowed on restaurant patios and other outdoor spaces. We hope lawmakers will come to their senses.
