Funny Dog Breed Illustrations and Descriptions Are Memorable and Will Instantly Make You Laugh
Dog breed mix-ups are easy, especially when every pup seems to have its own dramatic little personality. Grace Gogarty turned that everyday confusion into a funny comic series that makes each breed feel instantly recognizable.
The self-taught artist from St. Louis started drawing seriously at nine and later built a collection of illustrations based on the dogs she met while working at a doggy daycare. She sorted the series into large, medium, and small breeds, then gave each one a playful personality twist that dog lovers will probably recognize right away.
From anxious Yorkies to attention-loving Golden Retrievers, her comics keep the jokes coming. Here are some of her funniest illustrations, and they are hard to forget.
Dog owners know that individual breeds have their own unique quirks. Look at this funny Husky, for example:
Grace goes by the name Little Tunny on her social networks. She says she loves all dog breeds and their honest emotions.
"I appreciate their honest emotions and how different they are from me, while still having so much in common that I'd care to admit."

A lot of dog owners will recognize these breed-specific moods right away.
She loves the joyful appearance of yellow Labs. Here are her witty illustrations for chocolate, black, and yellow Labs.

Pit bulls have practically two temperaments; there is no middle ground for them:

"My illustration style arose organically, taking apart the art I loved and rebuilding it," said Grace.

"I really spent a lot of time trying to draw realistically and studying life before I realized I'd rather just break the rules on purpose," said Grace.
"I think things that are 'wrong' and unpolished are a bit more interesting, personable, and fun. I'm a messy person, and I try to reflect that in my cartoons."

That playful style is part of what makes the whole series so memorable.
Also, if you need a mood reset, these overly cute dogs will have you grinning fast.
Her inspiration to illustrate specific dog characteristics came when she worked in a dog daycare.
While working as a supervisor, she became familiar with many dog breeds and got to know them well.

"I’ve had a lot of people tell me my art is ugly in a charming way, and that’s great because that’s how I see life," added Grace.

Grace adopted her dog Huey when he was just a puppy, and here is his description:
"I adopted him from a shelter when he was a pup and have no clue what breed he is. I also have a three-legged cat and a tarantula, although I'm too scared to hold it."
