25 Illustrations Resembling A Fantasy Storybook Outlining The Personalities Of Animals And Life's Mysteries
Dzmitryi Kashtalyan turns animals, myths, and half-formed thoughts into illustrations that feel pulled from a fantasy storybook. Based in Belarus, the street artist fills his scenes with bears on unicycles, foxes in formalwear, and other strange little moments that make you stop and look twice.
His drawings are built from millions of tiny dots and delicate lines, which gives each piece a dense, textured look. Some are monochrome, others are softly shaded, but all of them lean into the same surreal mood, especially when he starts exploring bigger questions about life, memory, and the mysteries we cannot quite explain.
One of the most intriguing examples is "Far Side of the Moon," a scene that leaves plenty open to interpretation. Read on.
This is called the “Personality Formation”

And this is how the drawing goes

This Belarus-based illustrator has set out to create profoundly detailed illustrations of various characters, which appear to come straight out of a dream. His illustrations are surreal and wonderfully personify animals in a wide range of imaginative scenes.
That level of detail is hard to miss.

The illustrator achieves an impressive level of tonality

And this is the final piece... Remarkable

There’s another intriguing piece titled "Guessing On A Cabbage Head," where you can see a wise-looking ape dressed in human clothing and wearing an outdated powdered wig. The ape is pondering the question, "Who are we and how did humans first appear on Earth?" Kashtalyan admits that he often asks himself these questions, but he still has no answers to this day.
It gets even stranger from here.
