Tiny Pit Bull Puppy Was Born With Defects But Her Foster Mom Refused To Give Up On Her
Little Sasha entered the world with a fight on her paws. Born in early September with a cleft lip and palate, the tiny pit bull puppy immediately faced a serious challenge, and nursing was not easy for her.
Her human mom, a nurse practitioner from Westchester County, quickly realized Sasha needed more help than she could provide. That led to animal rescuer Courtney Bellew, who arranged for Sasha to go to foster mom Marie DeMarco, someone with plenty of experience caring for sick kittens and fragile babies.
From there, Sasha got the kind of care that can make all the difference, and her story only gets more touching from here.

But there was more bad news. Sasha suffered from orthopedic issues, a respiratory infection, a urinary infection, and she had fluid buildup in her skull.
Thank goodness she has the best foster mom, Marie DeMarco, to take good care of her.
She is a brave little baby who is getting stronger every day.
Her human mom also dresses her in the cutest outfits to keep her warm and make her look like a star.
She has already won over everyone around her.
It also mirrors the mother dog who stayed with her puppies through freezing cold, despite being starved for months.
She made some furry friends along the way as well.
“When I hold her and I’m kissing her, if I hold her near my face, she licks my nose.”
“She was dealt some bad cards in life… Boy, is she loved.”
It is the unconditional love and support that she is receiving that is giving her that extra push to survive.
Not everyone had kind words about Sasha, and that did not sit well with her foster mom.
She still has a long way to go, but she will get there! We are all holding our thumbs for you, little Sasha!
