This Low Budget Cat Adopting Promo Video Is So Wacky and Adorable That It Immediately Went Viral
Furkids turned a simple cat adoption push into a viral comedy clip, and the internet could not get enough of it. The Atlanta-based rescue teamed up with local contractor Paul Preston for a low-budget promo that looks like a used-car commercial, only with more cats and a lot more chaos.
The short video, called "Kitty Kommercial," was made to help shelter cats find homes, and it clearly worked. After the clip spread across social media, Furkids saw more attention, more donations, and a noticeable bump in adoptions.
Now the rescue has a viral hit on its hands, and the cats are the real winners. Read on.
This is "Kitty Kommercial"

It is made by Furkids, an Atlanta-based animal rescue

In "Kitty Kommercial," Paul Preston may have that used car salesperson vibe down, but it's just a humorous act to get cats adopted. Paul works for an Atlanta rental property management company as a contractor.
When his sister Helen approached him with an idea to aid the shelter where she volunteers, he accepted the role. Paul and Helen's film took just half an hour to make and a few cans of cat food to bribe the feline stars, but the end product is priceless, as it showcases Furkids' "excellent collection of quality cats. Interested in black cats? "It's like midnight inside a coffin over here!" he exclaims, describing the number of black cats.
Paul wants to know, “You like big cats? We’ve got the biggest cats you’ll ever have.”
And stars Paul Preston, a local contractor with an Atlanta rental property management company.

"All of our cats are self-cleaning and cleaning, and cleaning..." claims your trusted cat salesperson. Paul even performs a cover of Sarah McLachlan's "In the Arms of An Angel."
It's a sight to behold... But you'd best hurry and adopt those cats, because, towards the end of the movie, Paul appears to be a big fan of cat chow.
The kittens might be hungry right now!
Also, this is the same kind of petty internet drama as an entitled cat owner fuming at Friskies for coupons instead of retweeting his GoFundMe.
We can only say that a star is born

The video is so adorable

And it brought in a lot of donations and adoption requests

Cats received much-appreciated help after the video went viral. The Atlanta-based nonprofit runs the Southeast's largest no-kill animal shelter. However, donations and volunteer applications have increased since the release of this amusing cat movie.
In fact, Samantha Shelton, founder and director of Furkids, shared,
“We have received 80 percent more donations of items on our Amazon wish list this week than we normally would receive.”That viral boost clearly came with real-world results.

And the cat adoption numbers?
“While our adoption rates have been strong, we always have more animals than adopters, and we’re grateful for Paul Preston’s humorous approach to adoption,” Samantha explained.
“His piece has resonated powerfully and made us recognize that humor touches and motivates people… We at Furkids hope that our video inspires people around the world to adopt homeless cats and dogs and support their own local shelters.”The cats got their spotlight, and Furkids got the attention it needed.
