Blind Elephant Dances to Classical Music Played on the Piano and It Is Simply Incredible
A blind elephant swaying to classical piano sounds almost too charming to be real, but that is exactly what happened at a sanctuary in Thailand.
Musician Paul Barton brought his piano to Elephants World in Wang Dong, where he played for Lam Duan, a 62-year-old elephant who has spent most of her life without sight. As the music drifted through the sanctuary, she responded in a way that surprised everyone watching, moving her trunk and body as if she had joined the performance herself.
The moment only gets sweeter from there, especially once you see how the other elephants reacted too.
It's unbelievable how a blind elephant can show appreciation for classical music

This is the kind musician who went out of his way by bringing a piano into the wild. He plays to comfort the elephants at the rescue center.

This is Lam Duan. Her name means 'tree with yellow flowers.'

The warm-hearted piano player shares his time with animals who are disabled or sick.
The idea came to Barton while he was filming for his YouTube channel on the River Kwai bridge. He discovered the sanctuary that cares for old, injured, and disabled street elephants.
He loves these creatures dearly, so he asked for permission to play for them. The rescue center welcomed the idea.

It's not just Lam Duan who enjoyed his gift.
Other elephants also came to watch his mini classical piano concert. Some of them, in their own way, sang along to the tunes.

There's also another video of Barton playing a traditional Thai flute called Saiyok. This performance was for Plara, another elephant in the facility.
The whole sanctuary seemed to lean in when the music started.

In an interview, Barton describes how the elephants reacted to his music. As soon as he started playing the piano, the creatures began to move.
Some of the elephants stroked the piano with their trunks, while others held their trunks in their mouths as they listened.
There were also those who swayed, just like Lam Duan did. They definitely became curious about the beautiful sounds.
It was the kind of reaction that made the moment feel unforgettable.
This cheeky baby elephant stole the show, tickling the journalist’s nose during the news report.
