Slippery Kitten Eludes Rescuers for Quite Some Time, but They Finally Manage to Rescue It
A tiny kitten managed to outsmart rescuers for weeks, and the search turned into a surprisingly tense chase. In Los Angeles, TNR workers had already trapped eight cats from a yard in March, but one little survivor stayed hidden in a rubbish pile while her siblings headed to foster care.
The rescuers kept trying to catch her, and Casey Elise, a kitten fosterer, rescuer, and photographer, took in the four siblings already found, Gus, Eleanor, Miriam, and Oscar. While the others settled into foster life, the last kitten kept slipping away, leaving everyone wondering how long she could keep dodging them.
Then the elusive little cat finally got her moment, and the rescue story took a sweet turn. Read on.
The rescuers discovered that one kitten remained at the location. Elise and another rescuer attempted unsuccessfully for two weeks to trap the kitten.
A rescuer tried several times to grab her behind a massive old home, but she always managed to escape.
The little kitten kept proving she was faster than everyone else.
“A couple of weeks ago, we learned that there was another kitten at the colony we are TNRing. I’ve been really sad because my kittens have been having such a great time at my house while this little nugget was left behind,” Elise shared.
“I saw her twice last week but couldn’t get her because she’s super fast and very small, but @benjaminbutterscotch caught her the other day, and I’m so happy. We’ve been calling her Bonus, and I can’t wait to get home and meet her,” she added.

Cameron, a rescuer who looked after Bonus for a while, told the story:
“Finally, it took Grandpa to help Dad find little Bonus hiding in a woodpile after she had run all the way around the very large old house twice and hidden in so many nooks and crannies. Little Bonus exhausted herself, so Dad was able to just grab her with his hands, and she slept in the carrier all the way home.
She weighed only 1.4 pounds and was definitely the runt of the litter,” wrote Cameron.
Bonus’s siblings were already settling into foster life.

Oscar is the biggest and bravest, as well as the most lively, cuddly, and inquisitive.

“This Litter of Kittens is So Incredibly Perfect. I Can’t Believe I Got So Lucky. They’ll Be Available in Pairs (Gus and Eleanor, Miriam and Oscar).”

So Cute

Bonus finally arrived at Elise's house. She was concerned that Bonus might remain feral if the kitten stayed hidden in the rubbish pile. This kitten, however, was so sweet.
“Bonus is here, and she is AMAZING! She’s really fun and playful, and she’s extra cute because she has a mini tail,” Elise wrote.

“Bonus is Super Sweet, Playful, and Silly. Can’t Believe I Was Ever Worried She’d Be a Feral Friend.”

The mama cat escaped, but she was finally apprehended, spayed, and released. The cats that remained feral would be cared for by a kind individual once they were released.
In addition, the colony would no longer have any kittens in need of rescue. Thanks to these wonderful people, cats can remain free but still safe.
What a relief for everyone involved.
